Operation Christmas Child
Shoebox Drive

What is the Shoebox Drive?
For the entire month of October, we encourage all of our Fishers family to join our kids and participate in “Operation Christmas Child”. “Operation Christmas Child” is a mission outreach project sponsored by Samaritan’s purse that brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations worldwide through gift-filled shoe boxes. Children in war torn countries, earthquake stricken countries, and even hurricane ravaged areas will be the recipients of our shoebox donations.
How do I help fill 100 shoeboxes?
- Take an ordinary empty shoe box. Wrap it in Christmas paper (the lid must be wrapped separately).
- Fill it with school supplies, toys, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hard candy, lollipops, jewelry, t-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, watches, dolls, balls, stuffed animals, yo-yo’s, jump ropes, etc. Check the list of prohibited items on the right. You can include a letter to the recipient of your box of gifts, they might even write back to you.
- Attach a label indicating whether the box is for a boy or girl and what age.
- Include a $7.00 donation in a check (no cash please) made payable to Samaritan’s Purse.
- The donation will be used to cover the cost of shipping for each shoe box donated.
- Drop off your filled shoeboxes at church any Sunday in October.
- Pray for the recipient of your shoebox.
Our filled shoeboxes will have a booklet (in an appropriate language for the recipient’s country) attached that shares God’s love with the child.
Thank you for helping us show love to kids in need around the world.
