God is leading us on a journey to grow us closer together, closer to His own heart, and growth of more people in His family at Fishers of Men Lutheran Church. We will walk this journey together one step of faith at a time as we pray, serve and give to the LORD.
June Update
Keep Focused on the Mission!
Is our mission to build a new building? Or is it to spread His Word? I believe it is to spread His Word! Our resent VBS program reached out to over 150 youth (100 were visitors), but it also strengthened our volunteers (90). We are also adding another activity to reach out into our community through Night of Worship. This is being lead by Adam Countryman. This night of praise and worship is June 29 at 7pm. Also on June 29, we will be having our voter’s meeting. We will be electing fellow members for roles that will further spread His Word. Please plan to attend these activities for they will strengthen your faith, the faith of your fellow members, and the faith of our leaders who are trying to do God’s work in spreading His Word.
After 13 months of our campaign, we are still moving forward and should be proud of our progress. There are areas for improvement, but we are inline with our projected 13 month pledges. Here are some high points that I would like to share with you.
- We have collected over 101% of the 13 month pledges. $788,079
- Over 47% of our giving units have contributed to the campaign. 173 units
- Over 10% of money collected came from non-pledges. $79,649
- 13 of our giving units have contributed beyond their first two years of pledges
Just as they exist in our daily lives, there are some areas that we would like to improve upon. I have only listed one of these points.
- Outstanding Year 1 pledges. Based on each Year 1 pledge vs. corresponding amount received, the difference is $203,241 (92 giving units). This is a reduction of $9,823 (9 giving units) from last month.
How to address this area for improvement?
- Outstanding pledges. As I have previously stated, this might be how I have communicate the status of pledges vs. contributions. Contributions are reported quarterly to you, but your pledge is not. If you are in need of knowing what your pledge is, please feel free to contact me. I have not and will not release your pledge to anyone else.
In closing, I would like to remind you (and myself) that we need to stay strong in our faith, continual prayer seeking forgiveness and guidance, and our eyes fixed on the cross. Our Lord has a plan to expand his kingdom at FOM and First Colony. With this I am pleased to inform you that we are still on course to expand HIS kingdom (not ours) here in First Colony.
