A new bible study will start Sunday February 10 at 9:45 in the fellowship hall, led by Pastor Bauer, that will study the books written between the Old and New Testaments. A special emphasis will look at the history in the book of Maccabees and how it relates to the time of Christ. Join us as we grow in our faith. ESL Volunteers Needed
Our ESL class meets the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month from 12:45-2pm. We have 9-12 EAGER students that want to learn English. Volunteers are provided a teacher guide, but most importantly we show God's love as we interact and talk with these adults from around the world. We are also in need of a volunteer babysitter. For more information, contact Tracie Hollis ~ email@example.com or 281-787-2008.
Our Organization Number Has Changed! The New Number is JM344
Please be sure to update your card next time you shop at Kroger! We currently have 22 households that participate in the Kroger Rewards program that have designated their rewards to Fishers of Men. If you are not currently connected to the rewards program and you shop at Kroger, please consider adding our designated number to your card.
From November 1, 2018 to January 31st, 2019, Fishers received $63.54! That is with 22 households. We could easily double, triple (or more!) that amount and all you have to do is connect your card and shop as you normally do! Thank you for supporting our ministry!

Baptism Services - Why Don't We Use "Confession and Absolution"?
Some have asked why we don’t use “confession and absolution” in services where we have a baptism. This is because confession and absolution are the primary way by which we as Christians live out our baptism in our daily lives. Thus on Sundays when a baptism takes place as part of the service, that rite of baptism takes the place of confession and absolution. By our participation in the rite of baptism – particularly in renouncing “the devil and all his works and all his ways” – we are confessing our sins. The baptism is itself an absolution – that is an announcement of the forgiveness of sins. In the same way, since we confess the Creed as part of the rite of baptism, the Creed is not included a second time later in the service.

Looking for Medically Trained Volunteers
As part of our continuing work to provide better security for our church family, I am looking for medically trained members who might be available to assist with any medical problems on a Sunday morning. This will not be an assignment, just when necessary if you are attending the same service that someone might have a problem. We wish to develop a list that we can give to the ushers, greeters and all those involved in worship. Then, if needed, they can refer to the list for help. If you would be willing to have your name on this list, please contact Pastor Bauer at email@example.com. Thanks for your help!
